Merlin has worked for many years on and off in the theatre, as many theatres require live music in productions. Many theatre shows that have been set in faraway places (from the UK at least) and have needed Jewish, or at least eastern sounding clarinet have called on him....He has also recorded as session player for many BBC radio shows, and for many theatre shows.



Most recently;

Othello for the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) playing Turkish G clarinet, bass clarinet, whistle, bombarde and percussion. Music composed by Adrian Lee

Before that as MD it was The Tempest at Shakespeare's Globe also in the same season (on soprano sax and guitar) Two Noble Kinsmen


And before that, also as MD (with music by Mia Soteriou) The Seagull for the RSC
